Todd

Greetings-

I am contacting you about a very time sensitive matter in Raleigh NC.

A family in Raleigh NC that has been foreclosed on and evicted has been given until this Sunday April 8 as the last day to get things from their home. The family has decided that they want to continue to fight the eviction and foreclosure and is requesting community support. There is evidence of robo-signing which is bank fraud in the mortgage documents and we are having a lawyer look over the foreclosure process.

A coalition coordinating with Max Rameau of Take Back the Land, Mortgage Fraud NC, Occupy Raleigh, Save Our Homes and folks from Occupy Greensboro are working quickly to organize a public protest and home defense. 10 other families in this predominantly African-American neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods are facing foreclosure and eviction. It is up to us to send a clear message that we will not allow this to happen.

We need people that can be at the home in Raleigh on Monday. A large turnout will improve the chances this family can stay in their home and will give courage to other families facing the same threat. If you cannot be in Raleigh, your resources and skills are still needed! The address for the house will be released during the day on Sunday April 8. As soon as this happens, please get the word out through email, text, Facebook, Twitter- whatever works for you, and find people who can help with being there in person, messaging, outreach and other logistics.

As soon as the details of Monday’s action are made available we ask that you share them widely. The tide will turn on the foreclosure crisis based on how we respond to injustices like this.

In solidarity-
